Guest nurture
Guest nurture is the long-term relationship maintenance of past podcast guests who are not yet in an active sales conversation: sharing their episode's performance, congratulating milestones, making introductions, and inviting them back. It keeps the relationship warm between the interview and a buying moment.
Why it matters
Most guests will not have a live need the month they record. Nurture determines whether the relationship still exists when the need arrives, and whether the guest thinks of you first or re-enters the market through a competitor's funnel.
How to do it well
- Schedule two or three lightweight touches a year per guest: episode stats, a relevant intro, a genuine congratulation. Value, never a check-in for its own sake.
- Watch guests' trigger events (new role, funding, expansion). A past guest with a new budget is the warmest possible outbound target.
- Make introductions between guests; being the person who connects a market is a compounding position.
- Ask for referrals at the moment of delivered value (episode launch), not at random.
