Thought leadership
Thought leadership is content that stakes out a distinct, defensible point of view on where a market is going, published consistently enough that buyers associate the idea with its author. It differs from generic content marketing in that its unit of value is a position, not a keyword.
Why it matters
In considered B2B purchases, buyers shortlist companies they already trust before any salesperson arrives. Genuine thought leadership builds that pre-sale trust. The caveat is that it is earned through specificity and evidence, and the label is claimed far more often than the effect is achieved.
