Podcast Outbound Pipeline Calculator
Podcast ROI is usually modelled in downloads. This calculator models it in the currency your CFO recognises: qualified meetings, opportunities, and pipeline. Enter your invitation volume, keep or edit the benchmark-derived conversion rates, and see what the guest seat is worth as an outbound channel.

The MQL-to-sales-conversation stage runs on ThePod.fm's Next Logical Step© System, proven across client engagements from Fortune 500 buyers (Uber, Shell) to startups like Lemlist. Rate defaults come from the ThePod.fm B2B Podcast ROI Benchmark Report 2026 and are fully editable.
How the math works
The calculator runs the full funnel a real campaign runs, stage by stage. Every rate is editable; the defaults are the values ThePod.fm observes across client engagements.
- Replies = invitations sent × reply rate (all replies, including out-of-office).
- Positive replies: the share of replies expressing genuine interest, around 60% once out-of-office and other non-replies are excluded.
- Intro calls booked: well-run reply handling converts around 70% of positive replies into a booked podcast introduction call, and around 90% of booked calls happen. The intro call is a short, relaxed conversation with a decision-maker at a target account: assess fit for the show, learn their business, build rapport. Qualified or high-authority people are then invited onto an episode.
- MQLs: intro calls where a real commercial fit surfaced in conversation, around 50% when the guest list is built from your ICP.
- Sales conversations: around 50% of MQLs, using ThePod.fm's Next Logical Step© System (see below).
- Pipeline = sales conversations × average contract value; closed revenue applies your close rate on top, usually around 30% but always a per-client number.
The Next Logical Step© System
The stage where most podcast-as-channel attempts die is the handoff from a great interview to a commercial conversation. The Next Logical Step© System is ThePod.fm's method for that handoff: every guest interaction ends with one small, natural next step rather than a pitch. Run with our scripts and training it has converted interviews into sales conversations for clients ranging from Fortune 500 buyers (Uber, Shell) to startups like Lemlist. The scripts and training themselves are private to clients.
The second output: content, awareness, trust
The same funnel produces a co-equal second output. Every qualified conversation becomes a podcast episode, and each episode is repurposed into around five short-form clips and three social graphics. A typical episode earns 500–1,000 downloads and views, and the clips reach thousands more on LinkedIn. That layer does jobs the meeting count cannot: it drives awareness with ICP-fit buyers, generates inbound, and speeds up the deals already in motion, because prospects arrive at sales conversations having heard you think. The content figures shown are illustrative working averages from our engagements, not benchmark claims.
Every default traces to the ThePod.fm B2B Podcast ROI Benchmark Report, with pending metrics marked as editable working values until their distributions publish.
